AlarmSense is a range of conventional fire detection and alarm products designed to be connected to the same pair of supply wires, making installation quicker and less expensive.

AlarmSense has been developed to make the design and installation of a fire detection and alarm system easier and more economic for small to medium-sized buildings. The range also allows an existing system to be extended or modified if necessary. This flexibility makes AlarmSense an excellent choice for use in HMOs (House in Multiple Occupation).

As you would expect from Apollo, AlarmSense incorporates features that help reduce false alarms and patented technology to ensure the integrity of a system. The range also includes products, such as beacons, to help meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

Product Information

The AlarmSense Optical Smoke Detector works using the light scatter principle. The detector changes to alarm state at a pre-set threshold of smoke penetration into the sensing chamber.

  • Approvals/certifications: Certified to EN54-7 by UL International (UK) Limited.
  • Application/operation: Generates an alarm condition when it detects a pre-set threshold of smoke penetration into the smoke chamber.
  • Supply wiring: 2-wire monitored, polarity insensitive.
  • Supply/operating voltage: 9 to 33V DC.
  • Quiescent current: 50µA @ 15 VDC.
  • Alarm voltage: 9-33V DC.
  • Alarm current: 1.5mA @ 2-8.5V; 25 +/- 2mA @ 10.5-15V; 1.5AmA @ 18-24V; 2mA @ 33V.
  • Alarm reset voltage: 2V max (1 second alarm reset time).
